The Hauraki Gulf is considered one the most biologically and geographically diverse marine parks in the world, over 60% of the southern hemisphere’s entire marine mammal species have been seen in the Gulf. With a population of 500 - 1000 marine mammals, the success rate of viewing is phenomenal.
